Vendor Review - Big Sur Bakery

We visited Big Sur about a year before we got married and scheduled a cupcake tasting with Michelle at the Big Sur Bakery. Typically, I like lemon better than chocolate, but in this case, Michelle's chocolate cupcakes were amazing! And of course, the lemon was great too, but I was definitely mesmerized by the chocolate.

We also ended up ordering a small chocolate cake (8 in.) in addition to the chocolate and lemon cupcakes. The only downside was that no one could find a cake box at the end of the night and the remnants didn't really survive the trip back to the lodge.

Michelle was really easy to work with and extremely helpful. We really enjoyed working with her. It was very stress-free, which is perfect for a wedding vendor.

On a side note, a friend of mine and her husband had dinner at Big Sur Bakery the Friday before the wedding and they raved about it! I can't wait to go back and have a proper meal there.

After seeing your wedding posted on one of my daily reads - OnceWed, I've now flagged you and will be pouring over your archives. Your wedding has a very similar look/feel to what we will be trying to achieve next August.

My groom is from the Monterey Peninsula and while we debated on having the wedding somewhere on the gorgeous central coast (I just told him about the elopement package at one of our favorite spots - Ventana!), I convinced him to have it in the city we now call home - Portland OR. However - we'll be at a rural outdoor venue and I hope we can achieve the level of beauty that you did for your incredible Big Sur wedding!

Thank you for providing so much inspiration!

beautiful ideas - my fiance and i were looking in that area as well. I was wondering if you knew whether the ventana inn would let you rent the ceremony site and then host the reception off site (it's a little out of our budget otherwise) =D
